Winter Painting Exercises
Choose a colour to make a collage from 
Pick a small section to paint 
I struggled with painting. Recently, the only painting I had done was to recreate images off the internet for themed parties, I had no experience in proper colour usage, value, or shading. I had to battle a lot of internal negative self talk about not being good. Our guest instructor, local painter, Claire Falkenberg was very encouraging, and always reinforced the value of all the work that was being created by our class. She taught us how to look and focus on one tiny section of a piece, and try and find “the thing”.. find what was working and build from there.
